Material grammar
Felt, fabric, wood, metal, pottery, and textile surfaces are treated as a language of touch, weight, warmth, and use.
About HandOrigins
HandOrigins is a design-led craft venture for objects that carry material, memory, and human touch into modern daily life.
Formation
Sandeep Verma is the designer and founder of House of Sandeep Verma. His approach to couture is shaped by lateral thinking across form, materiality, surface, proportion, and handwork. He has an instinct for bringing unrelated elements into conversation until they form a third thing: unexpected, coherent, and alive. His design language has often drawn from Art Deco, Modernism, and Art Nouveau, reinterpreted through neo-flapper fringe dresses and neo-Art Deco bridal pieces. Through the House, his work has moved through bespoke tailoring, structured garments, men's and women's worsted suits, newer surface development, contemporarized costume, export production, supply chain, and fashion design education.
HandOrigins carries that discipline into objects: wool felt, fabric, pottery, wood, metal, textile surfaces, pet accessories, bags, gifts, and daily-use pieces where craft is connected to modern life through design.
Philosophy
The problem with many handmade products is not lack of soul. It is lack of product thinking. A beautiful hand can still make an object that is badly sized, weakly finished, poorly explained, or disconnected from the way people live now.
Felt, fabric, wood, metal, pottery, and textile surfaces are treated as a language of touch, weight, warmth, and use.
Form, proportion, colour, trims, packing, and function are refined so craft can enter serious homes and stores.
We prefer made-to-order production, durable use, responsible materials, reduced waste, and certification only where it can be documented.
The Karigar principle
HandOrigins is built around the belief that the artisan relationship should be visible. Where a product is made by a named artisan or group, the record should carry maker credit, process, material, region, and the role of design intervention.
Product direction
A considered pet line using wool felt, fabric, trims, metal, and wood for softer, better-looking accessories for dogs and cats.
Bags, runners, magnets, wall pieces, pottery, gifts, and home artifacts made to be used, touched, gifted, and remembered.
We are not trying to preserve craft as museum memory. We are trying to make it useful again.
